Chocolate Cake:
· 2 cups all purpose flour
· 2 cups granulated sugar
· ¾ cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder (sifted)
· 2 teaspoon baking soda
· 1 teaspoon baking powder
· 1 teaspoon salt
· ½ cup vegetable oil
· 1 cup buttermilk (at room temperature)
· 2 large eggs
· 2 teaspoon vanilla
· 1 cup hot water
Cherry Liqueur Syrup:
· ½ cup granulated sugar
· ¼ cup cherry liqueur
· ½ cup water
Whipped Cream Frosting:
· 3 cup whipping cream (cold)
· ¼ cup powdered sugar (sifted)
Chocolate Bark:
· 250g good quality dark chocolate (chopped)
Assemble:
· 2 ½ cup cherries (pitted and cut in half)
· 1 bar dark chocolate for shaving (optional)

Chocolate Cake:
· Take two 8 inches round baking pans.
· Grease the sides of the pan with butter and dust with some cocoa powder.
· Line the bottoms of the pan with parchment paper. Now, preheat the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
· Take a bowl and put all the dry ingredients like the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, cocoa powder and salt into it.
· Stir the ingredients and mix them properly.
· Now add all the wet ingredients like eggs, vanilla, buttermilk, vegetable oil and hot water in the bowl. (Make sure you pour the water slowly so that the egg doesn’t get cooked.)
· Mix them for 2-3 minutes. The batter should be thin and not very thick.
· Now pour the batter into the baking pans and bake it for 45 minutes.
· After the cake is made, cool it in the pan for 10 minutes then turn it out and let it cool completely.

Cherry Liqueur Syrup:
Now take a different bowl to prepare cherry liqueur syrup. It is a very simple process and can be made within 5 minutes. Place some sugar and water into a small pot. Stir the mixture and bring it to a boil. Simmer it for a minute and then remove the mixture from the heat. Add cherry liqueur and stir it properly. Then leave the mixture to cool down and your syrup is ready.
Whipped Cream Frosting:
This is another ingredient of the cake which can be made within 5 minutes. Take a bowl and put some cream and powdered sugar into it and whip them together. Continue this process until the cream is light and fluffy.

Chocolate Bark:
· In a double boiler, melt some dark chocolate. You can also use a microwave to melt the chocolate.
· Take a large sheet of parchment paper and pour the melted chocolate over it.
· Spread it evenly using a spatula. Make sure the chocolate is evenly spread and the layer is very thin.
· Now take the parchment paper and place it on a baking sheet and refrigerate it for a while until the chocolate gets firm.
· Once the chocolate gets firm, you can easily create chocolate barks out of it.

Assembly:

· Take the chocolate cake and cut it horizontally into half.
· Place a layer of the cake on a cake stand and brush some generous amount of cherry syrup over it.
· Now top the cake with approximately a cup of whipped cream and spread it evenly.
· Top a cup of cherries over the whipped cream and press it gently.
· Repeat the same process with the remaining layers and spread the frosting all over the cake.
· Now decorate the cake with chocolate shavings, chocolate bark and cherries.
